8:45 A.M. MAY 6 — On May 1 at approximately 1:10 p.m., Essex Police located the 16-year-old male who fired three rounds of gunshots earlier in the day. 

He was taken into custody on the charges of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment and transported to the Colchester Police Department. 

He was later transported to the St. Johnsbury Regional Correctional Center by the Vermont Department of Corrections and lodged on the above charges. 

4:30 P.M. MAY 2 — Colchester Police responded Saturday to a report of gunshots at a Colchester residence.

At approximately 4:27 a.m. May 1, Colchester Police responded to a residence on Prim Road after receiving a report of gunshots.

On scene, officers quickly learned a 16-year-old male had reportedly fired three rounds from inside the residence. Witnesses on scene indicated that the 16-year-old had fired the shots at another juvenile male that was outside the residence banging on a bedroom window.

Investigation revealed that all individuals are familiar with one another, and there is no known risk to the general public.

After the shooting, the 16-year-old male and another 18-year-old fled the scene and are currently being sought by police for questioning.

Colchester Police were assisted by Burlington Police, South Burlington and Vermont Fish & Game.
