The Colchester High School fishing team were crowned lords of the lake when they won the inaugural high school fishing championship on Saturday, Oct. 6. The combined weight of the team’s catches stood at 20.73 lbs., outdistancing the nearest competitors by nearly four pounds.

SOUTH HERO — Fifteen high schools hit Lake Champlain on Saturday in Vermont’s inaugural bass fishing competition, won by an Essex H.S. team.

COLCHESTER — Hans Nedde and Evan Lamothe scored twice each, leading Colchester to its first victory of the boys’ soccer season Tuesday night, 5-0 over visiting Milton.

The Lakers fell 4 – 1 to the Burlington Seahorses on Saturday, bringing their record to 0-3. CHS will look to garner their first win this week when they face Milton and BFA St. Albans.

Even though school didn’t start until Wednesday, student-athletes were already hard at work, running the trails at Hard’ack in St. Albans. The Lakers begin the season strong with team wins for the junior-senior boys and girls in their first meet of the year.
