Parks and Recreation
Glen Cuttitta

The Parks & Recreation Department is wrapping up the last of our fall programs and getting ready for the release of the winter/spring guide!

Colchester Youth Basketball League (CYBL) teams have begun practices! We have over 200 young athletes beginning or continuing their journey to not only learn the sport of basketball, but also build teamwork skills, learn about good sportsmanship and make new friends. A huge thank you to the many parent volunteers that are coaching this season too!

The Winter/Spring Guide is due out next week! Keep an eye on your mailbox! There are over 30 new programs planned, as well as many returning favorites for all age levels.

Colchester Youth Lacrosse League sign-ups will also begin when the winter/spring guide is released.

Mark your calendars for Thurs., Jan. 17: Colchester’s Got Talent! Auditions will be happening at the high school!

A reminder that motorized vehicles are not allowed in town parks. This includes ATVs and snowmobiles.

An ice rink is planned at Airport Park, but note that we will need a few consecutive days of below-0 temps for the ground to freeze before we can fill and freeze it. Nordic ski trails at Airport Park and the Village Park will be groomed, but only once a significant base of packed snow is present.

The town offices will close at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.

The town offices will close at noon on Monday, Dec. 24 and be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
