Vermont State Police say a New Hampshire man drove at 102 mph on Interstate-89 in Colchester early Tuesday morning.
Twenty-year-old Dambar K. Dhakal of Concord, N.H. was stopped traveling southbound in a 65 mph zone, according to a VSP press release. Troopers say a second vehicle was traveling at the same speed, and it appeared the two were racing.
Dhakal was cited with negligent operation and processed at VSP’s Williston barracks. His car was towed from the location of the stop, the release said.
The stop was conducted in a designated “safety corridor,” where law enforcement agencies have specifically focused on aggressive driving, tailgating and cell phone use between Exits 13 and 17.
Dhakal is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County District Court on July 25.
