Francesca Blanchard and the Quarantine Collective

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 30

Where: Livestream

Details: Singer-songwriter Francesca Blanchard, who was raised in France and Vermont, is performing Friday night at the UVM Recital Hall. Watch a livestream of the event at home for $20. Blanchard will be bringing her latest album of indie-pop music to life with the help of the Vermont Quarantine Collective, a local chamber music group. Get tickets to the livestream here. 

Green Up Day

When: all day, Saturday, May 1

Where: Various locations statewide

Details: Help keep up Vermont beautiful by cleaning up trash from roadways and waterways this weekend. This is an activity the whole family can do together and a great way to give back to the community. Pick up green trash bags from a specified location in your town, and follow instructions for disposing of them once full. 

Socially Distant Bird Walks

When: 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., Saturday, May 1

Where: Mt. Philo State Park, Charlotte

Details: Join the Green Mountain Audubon Society for a free, guided walk through Mt. Philo State Park, a hotspot for bird watching. Email phillipspatj@gmail.com to register. Spots on each of the three walks are limited. 

Recycling Drop Off

When: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 1

Where: Colchester High School

Details: As part of her “Earth Day Every Day” platform, Miss Vermont High School Nadja Dacres is encouraging the community to responsibly recycle and discard junk by bringing it to Colchester High School on Saturday. Grunts Move Junk is sponsoring the event and will haul all recycling brought to the school. All items accepted except hazardous material. 

Vermont Jazz Trio

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, May 2

Where: The Round Café, Stowe

Details: Enjoy a delicious brunch and a high-end jazz concert on Sunday in Stowe. Vermont Jazz Trio, made up of Remi Savard, Jeremy Hill and Peter Schmeeckle, will perform live. Purchase tickets for $30 here.
