Looking for fun things to do this Halloween in Chittenden County? Below are some events that are fun for a variety of ages.


Trunk or Treat

When: 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

Where: Daybreak Community Church

Details: Head to the church's parking lot for some free candy and a story walk. The event is appropriate for the whole family.


Trick or Treat Trail and Pumpkin Display

When:4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

Where: Maple Street Park and Pool

Details: For a second year, families can enjoy a trick or treat trail with decorated tents and treats. While registration for the Trick or Treat trail is required the Pumpkin Display is available for all to view.

Connections Block Party

When: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

Where: Next to Firebird Cafe and Village Center

Details: The block party will feature giveaways and lawn games as well as vendors of women-owned businesses and other activities.

Trick or Treating

When: 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31

Where: The Essex Experience

Details: Trick or treat at the shops at the Essex Experience. Look for businesses with a matching poster for the event to see if they will be participating. Make sure to dress up for candy and decorations.


Halloween Dance Party

When: 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

Where: Fraternal Order of Eagles

Details: Reserve tickets to enjoy food, drinks and dancing. Proceeds will help fund charity.

The Haunted Forest

When: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

Where: Bombardier Park West

Details: Enjoy a haunted forest appropriate for children over 13 and those who don't scare easily. There will be creepy creatures and scenes designed to give people goosebumps. Entry is $5 per person and tickets must be purchased in advance.
