Vermont State Police say a Colchester resident had more than 4 ounces of marijuana in her possession when she was pulled over on the interstate on Monday evening.

Heidi Sterling, 24, was stopped just after 6:30 p.m. on May 15 on I-89 northbound near Exit 21 after troopers clocked her going 86 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to a press release.

VSP was performing a detail focused on impaired drivers in the area, the release said.

A subsequent investigation revealed Sterling had about 4.4 ounces of marijuana, according to the release.

She was cited for possession of marijuana and is scheduled to appear in Franklin County District Court on June 26 at 1 p.m.
