Causeway 5K and 15K

Runners leave the starting line June 5 during the Colchester Causeway 5K and 15K. The races were cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

COLCHESTER — After more than a year of running solo and competing virtually, runners returned to the start line Saturday with smiles on their faces.

Colchester's annual Causeway 5K and 15K was held June 5. Ninety-nine people ran in the 5K and 68 in the 15K.

Runners ran along Airport Park's gravel path before making their way to Lake Champlain and out onto the scenic Causeway.

The race was hosted by Colchester Parks and Recreation, and all proceeds from the event go towards maintaining and improving the Causeway for future generations.

Here are the top three finishers from each race:

1.  Nicholas Kidder

2.  Rich Gallagher

3.  Christopher Chase

1. Waylon Kurts

2. Dave Dunham

3. Alex McHenry
