The Colchester Sun is excited to announce that Leah Cartwright joined our staff earlier this month as our spring reporting intern.

"I’m really looking forward to learning things that I could use in the future, in life in general and as I pursue the career path of a journalist," Cartwright said.

Cartwright is a sophomore at Colchester High School and is involved in the spring musical. She is also a member of CHS Cares, a volunteer organization that meets regularly to support various service projects.

"I love listening to peoples stories and learning about topics that interest me and then sharing that information with others," she said. "Journalism is a very rewarding job, which is one of the main reasons I want to pursue it later in life."

Cartwright will report on a variety of topics, as well as write the Sun's monthly People to Know feature, a Q&A with interesting Colchester community members.
