The Town of Colchester went back towards its weekly average after charting two-straight weeks of higher new COVID-19 case numbers as seen in the Vermont Department of Health’s latest town-by-town update.
Colchester had 33 new cases for the week ending April 7, that being 18 less than the record-setting 51 the town registered two weeks earlier. Colchester accounted for 7.8% of Chittenden County’s cases for the week – that being lower than the 11.1% of the county’s total cases that the town has accounted for since last March.
During the reporting period, Chittenden County surpassed the 60,000 mark of people getting vaccinated as the state surpassed the 140,000 mark for people completing the vaccination process. Deaths in the state appear to be slowing with just three being recorded for COVID-19 between April 1-7 – there being three-straight days in which there weren’t any.
