COLCHESTER   Max Anderson and Bailey Olson supplied the offense while the Laker defense pitched a shutout in the second half in route to the team’s 28-7 victory over Essex last Friday night.

Olson started the scoring on the first play of the second quarter on a quick 8 yard pitch and catch from Quarterback Pos Powell for the 7-0 lead. Essex did find pay dirt a few minutes later to tie the score at 7 -7. The Lakers reclaimed the lead on their next possession when Max Anderson (18 carries for 121 yards) took the ball into the end zone from 4 yards out to make the score 14-7 Colchester as the teams headed into the half.

After halting Essex on their first drive of the half, Olson switched from wide receiver to quarterback on the next Lakers possession. The team then proceeded down the field on long drive using a dose of running from Anderson, Olson and Quinton Hoskins (15 carries for 60 yards). The drive was capped off when Olson swept right and took the ball in for the score from 27 yards out.

The defense then sealed the victory, while Olson found the end zone again in the 4th quarter on another QB keeper this time from 5 yards out to up the score to 28-7.

With the victory The Lakers Improve to 4 and 2 on the season, with a date in St. Albans this Friday night to take on the Bobwhites of BFA.
