COLCHESTER – Gary Lynn Page, 71, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. He was born Dec. 3, 1946 in Galion, Ohio, son of the late Robert and Louise (Buck) Page.

A proud Buckeye and avid football fan, he graduated from Ohio State University in 1968 with a bachelor of science, and in 1972 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. He founded Malletts Bay Veterinary Hospital in 1974 where he practiced as a small animal veterinarian until his retirement in 2011, when his son, Dustin, took over the practice.

Gary will be remembered by his loved ones for his quick wit and love of laughter.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan (Parsons) Page; his daughter, Kristen Page Wright, and husband, Corin Wright; his son, Dustin Page, and wife, Sara Wohlhueter-Page; a brother, John Page, and wife, JoAnne; a sister, Janet Whitehill, and husband, Ronald; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren Alistair Wright (10), Sebastian Wright (8), Cassandra Wright (7) and granddaughter Devyn Lynn Page who was born May 15, 2018. He was especially proud of his two children who followed him into the medical field. His daughter Kristen is a physician, and his son Dustin is also a veterinarian.

His family would like to thank Dr. David Kaminski as well as the physicians and nurses of the emergency department and medical ICU at the University of Vermont Medical Center for their care during his brief hospitalization.

Per Gary’s wishes there will be no public visiting hours. A graveside funeral service for family will be held on Saturday, May 19.
