A Colchester High School alum led the Franklin Pierce University men’s golf team to its first tournament title of the golf season earlier this month.

Sam Myers placed first at the St. Rose Fall Shootout, a tournament held at Pinehaven Country Club, a par 71 course in Guilderland, N.Y. Myers never left the top spot during the two-day event. The sophomore poured in a 70 (-1) showing through his first 18 and shot just three over the following day.

Franklin Pierce finished the two-day tourney with a total of 588 (+20) which was nine strokes better than second place squad Le Moyne College (597, +29).
