A Colchester resident was charged with his second DUI last Saturday after police found him walking in the breakdown lane of Interstate 89 in Fairfax, a press release said.
Vermont State Police saw 56-year-old Delton Davis carrying a gas can and found his vehicle parked in the breakdown lane just before 11:30 p.m. on July 15, according to police.
Troopers stopped to “render assistance” to Davis and suspected he was under the influence of alcohol, the release said. After conducting standardized field sobriety exercises, police took Davis into custody, police said.
Davis was transported to the VSP St. Albans Barracks for fingerprinting and processing and released on a citation to appear at the Franklin County Superior Court on August 14 at 1 p.m., police said.
