cpdbadgeColchester police say a crash left a 19-year-old motorcyclist dead after colliding with a car on Williams Road around 4 p.m. on Monday.

Police identified Adam-Michael Ploof of Colchester as the operator of a 2014 Kawasaki involved in a collision with a 2003 KIA, driven by 38-year-old Rebecca Stewart, also of Colchester.

Stewart was traveling northbound on Williams Road when Ploof crossed into her lane, turning onto the road from Jeffrey Drive, police said.

First responders found Ploof facedown and unresponsive in the roadway on arrival. Resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful, the release said. The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A news release Tuesday said neither speed nor drug or alcohol impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

Police say this investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information to call 264-5555.
