The Colchester varsity field hockey team is currently third in the Vermont Principals’ Association rankings after a 2-0-1 week, including wins over Champlain Valley Union and U-32.

Colchester tied visiting Mt. Mansfield on Monday, but gained ground in the VPA rankings after two wins over the last two weeks.

Colchester (7-1-1) first picked up a 6-0 win over host U-32 behind a pair of Meg Lehouiller goals. Packie Palaza, Kelsey LeClair, Petra Bajuk and Sam Messier also scored.

The Lakers then downed Mt. Abraham in a tight 1-0 contest before tying with Mt. Mansfield on Monday afternoon.

The Lakers now have five games left in their regular season schedule, beginning with a Friday matchup at Rice. They then take on Middlebury, Burlington, Essex and South Burlington — the latter of which are currently ranked ahead of Colchester.
