Marie Houghton of Colchester has been appointed state president of AARP `Vermont, a volunteer position that works closely with staff and volunteers throughout the state. Houghton attended Champlain College and worked for IBM for 45 years, spending most of her career in the department of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs. Her new responsibilities include serving as the primary volunteer spokesperson, chairing the AARP Vermont Executive Council, building networks and community partnerships and recruiting new volunteers.
