Mike Goldstein of Colchester was the honored recipient of the Department of Defense commemorative award, which was presented to him on November 22 at the Colchester American Legion Post 91. Goldstein retired as a Brigadier General after 40 years of service, including assignments as the Commander of the 1st Battalion, 86th Field Artillery Regiment and Commander of Division Troops 42nd Infantry, Vt. Army National Guard. The award is an impressive eagle’s head embossed on a lapel pin. It commemorates members of all military branches who served throughout the world during the Vietnam era from 1955 to 1975.
