Colchester police arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery at two area gas stations on Monday, a press release said.
Jacob S. Robbins, 20, of Winooski is accused of armed robberies at two convenience stores on Roosevelt Highway: Maplefields on May 30 and Champlain Farms Shell on June 9, CPD said.
Also on Monday, St. Albans City police apprehended Robbins for another attempted armed robbery of Georgia’s Center Market. There, police said he brandished a gun and demanded the lone store employee empty the cash register. When the employee repeatedly refused, Robbins reportedly ran into a car waiting in the parking lot, which fled north on Route 7 before police quickly stopped it.
After stopping the car, police also arrested Megan Russell, 25, of Winooski. The couple’s one-year-old son was also in the vehicle, police said.
Cited with attempted assault and robbery, Robbins and Russell were scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Tuesday morning for that incident.
