Burnham Memorial Library
Kelly McCagg, Director
Spring is right around the corner, and with it comes renewal. We are happy to welcome Kat Janiga as our new circulation services staff member and announce that Penny Cunningham has been named adult programming & outreach coordinator. We know these changes in personnel will help us to inspire our residents to learn, grow, and become better citizens. Continue reading to find out about some of our upcoming programs.
- Drag Queen Story Hour: Saturday, April 7, 11:30 a.m. DQSH is just what it sounds like: Drag queens reading stories to children. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish and where dress-up is real. Join us for an extra special story hour in the meetinghouse (located next door to the library).
- Young Writers & Storytellers: Wednesday, April 11 & 25, 4-5 p.m. Join us for our writing club for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. Let’s create stories! Call 264-5660 for more information, and to sign up.
Louise Penny Bus Trip: Saturday, June 23. Our first trip was such a success that we thought we would bring it back! Join other Louise Penny fans to tour the Eastern Townships of Quebec, visiting the places that inspired the world of Three Pines.
