Colchester High School alum Kelsey Cauchon cruised in her debut with Johnson State, netting a pair of goals within an 8-minute stretch to help the Badgers roll to a 9-0 season opener win over Vermont Tech.

Cauchon, a former CHS soccer player, scored just 12 minutes into last Friday’s game. She followed that with another in the 18th minute to push the lead to 4.

Cauchon is joined on Johnson State by fellow CHS grad Michaela Brodeur, who’s in her first season with the Badgers and recorded two shots on goal in the contest.

Johnson traveled to Norwich on Tuesday in a game that concluded after the Sun went to print, and next travels to Curry College on Saturday.
