Police say a Colchester man crashed his car on Roosevelt Highway just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5.
Michael McKenzie, 54, went off the roadway just north of Creek Farm Road, driving down an embankment and striking a tree, according to a press release from Colchester PD.
The road was closed for about an hour while emergency personnel worked to remove McKenzie from the car and clear the scene, police said.
Colchester Rescue, Colchester Center Fire and Essex Police assisted at the scene. McKenzie was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center, according to the release.
Police said alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the release said. Anyone with information is asked to call 264-5555.
