Collecting five hits in a rare multi-opponent doubleheader Friday, Sheets helped the Lakers split with Rutland and Mt. Abraham to improve to 3-2 in the season. In the first game, a makeup contest against Mt. Abe, Sheets and Brynn Coughlin each doubled for the Lakers. Sheets also threw seven strong innings against the Eagles, striking out nine in a 7-4 loss to the Division II power. Against Rutland, Sheets went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and 3 runs scored. Sam Messier (2-4, 3 runs) and Coughlin (3-for-3, 2 RBI, 3 runs) also had multi-hit games for Colchester in the 15-0 rout.
