South Burlington police cited a Colchester man for DUI-No. 2 on Sunday after officers found him sleeping against the steering wheel of his vehicle, according to a press release.

Police say David Daignault, 32, was seen driving a red Chevrolet van at a high rate of speed on Dorset Street around 2:30 p.m. He then pulled into a driveway before the officer could clock his speed.

Ten minutes later, the officer noticed Daignault was slumped in the driver’s seat. The officer woke Daignault up before administering a roadside breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol content was .166 percent, a press release said.

Daignault was taken into custody before being released to a friend. He’s scheduled to appear in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 21.
